"Every thread carries the memory of the Sigiriya frescoes โ the celestial apsaras painted 1,500 years ago. Our batik honours that timeless heritage of Sri Lanka."
Deep in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka, YOBO was born from a reverence for the island's ancient artistry. Our founders, inspired by the ethereal Sigiriya frescoes, set out to preserve the endangered art of batik โ bringing it into the modern world without losing its soul.
Every YOBO piece is created by skilled artisans who have inherited this craft through generations. Using only natural dyes and traditional wax-resist techniques, we produce batik that is both authentic and contemporary.
"In every fold of YOBO batik, you find Sri Lanka โ its colours, its stories, its timeless spirit."
Three pillars that define every YOBO piece
Every motif is applied by hand using traditional tjanting and block-stamp tools. No two pieces are ever identical โ your garment is a true original.
We use plant-based dyes extracted from Sri Lanka's rich natural flora. Earthy, vibrant and kind to the skin โ colours that deepen beautifully with every wash.
Inspired by Sigiriya's ancient frescoes, our patterns honour the artistic legacy of Sri Lanka's royal craftsmen who shaped a culture of extraordinary beauty.
